We have exciting news! We are working on creating a kids club affiliated with the Michigan Robotics club and Brain Monkeys of the Ann Arbor area. We are looking at the possibility, depending on interest, of creating a kids club where kids can learn to create robots and share their experiences. The club would be open to kids 5 to 13. Instructors from Brain Monkeys, MRC, and possibly other Ann Arbor area Maker organizations would mentor kids in developing their own robot project.
If you are interested in you child participating, we are going to have an informational meeting on June 26th at 6pm at Maker Works at 3765 Plaza Dr Ann Arbor, MI 48108. The meeting will be just before the Michigan Robot Club Meeting. You are welcome and invited to stay for that meeting also. If you know any other parent that may have a child that is interested, please pass this message along. Note, each child is required to be accompanied by a parent/responsible adult per Maker Works rules. if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me ([email protected]) or Katie ([email protected]). The Michigan Robot Club will be at the Detroit Maker Faire at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn on July 27 and 28, 2013. Come down and vist us. There is a lot of art, technology and fun for the whole family. Visit the maker faire website (http://www.makerfairedetroit.com/) for details. |
